Journal of Teacher Education and Pedagogy (JTEP) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Publication Center – Bali Business School. This ethics statement outlines the ethical standards expected of all parties involved in the publishing process: authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This document aligns with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Publishing a manuscript in JTEP represents a significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of teacher education and pedagogy. It reflects the integrity and academic standards of both the authors and the institutions that support them. All parties involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards.
The Publication Center – Bali Business School, as the publisher of JTEP, is fully committed to upholding the integrity of the publication process. Editorial decisions are made independently, without influence from advertising or commercial interests. The editorial team upholds transparency, fairness, and academic responsibility at every stage of the process.
Publication Decisions
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts will be published. This decision is based on the manuscript’s academic quality, originality, significance, and relevance to the journal’s scope, along with legal considerations regarding libel, copyright, and plagiarism.
Fair Play
All manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political ideology.
Confidentiality
The editorial team must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and relevant editorial staff.
Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished material from submitted manuscripts in their own research without the author’s express written consent.
Contribution to Editorial Decision
Reviewers assist the editors in making decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts through constructive feedback.
Promptness
Reviewers who are unable to complete their review in a timely manner should notify the editorial office promptly.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents. They may not be shared or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively and constructively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate and unacceptable.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and inform the editor of any substantial similarity with other published materials.
Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or their institutions.
Reporting Standards
Authors must present their research accurately and honestly. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be requested to provide raw data for editorial review and must retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
All submissions must be original. Authors must properly cite or quote the work and words of others. Plagiarism in any form is unethical and unacceptable.
Multiple or Redundant Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Redundant publication is considered unethical.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment must be given to all sources that significantly contributed to the research.
Authorship
Only individuals who made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. All co-authors must agree to the final version of the manuscript and its submission for publication.
Hazards and Human/Animal Subjects
If the work involves procedures or equipment that may present unusual hazards, or involves human or animal subjects, the authors must clearly state this in the manuscript.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that may influence their work. All sources of funding must be clearly stated.
Fundamental Errors
When authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they are obligated to notify the journal’s editor and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.
