Abstract

The study evaluates the impact of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum on academic achievement and student development holistically. Through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study analyzed a body of literature related to the policy and practice of the curriculum. The results of the analysis show that the Independent Curriculum encourages project-based learning, flexibility, and the development of 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. However, key challenges include infrastructure limitations, teacher competence, and policy coordination. This study concludes that the Independent Curriculum has great potential to improve the quality of education if supported by teacher training, facility improvement, and collaboration of various parties.
