Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Journal of Innovation in Education and Learning (JIEL), published by Pusat Publikasi, is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. Our ethical guidelines are based on the core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity throughout the publication process.

  1. Duties of Editors
    The editors of JIEL are responsible for making fair and unbiased decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of submitted manuscripts. Editors evaluate submissions solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and clarity, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy. Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher. Editors must ensure a confidential, transparent, and objective peer-review process. In the case of suspected misconduct, editors will act in accordance with COPE guidelines.

  2. Duties of Reviewers
    Peer reviewers play a crucial role in the editorial decision-making process. They are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of the manuscript. Reviewers must disclose any potential conflict of interest and decline to review any manuscript in which they have competing, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions connected to the paper. Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not use or share the content for personal advantage. Any suspicion of plagiarism, unethical research, or data fabrication should be promptly reported to the editor.

  3. Duties of Authors
    Authors submitting to JIEL must ensure that their work is original, free from plagiarism, and has not been published elsewhere or under consideration by another journal. Authors must cite all sources appropriately and acknowledge any financial support or conflict of interest that might be perceived to influence the results or interpretation of their work. Research involving human participants must adhere to ethical standards, and appropriate approval from institutional ethics committees must be obtained and stated in the manuscript. All authors listed must have made a significant contribution to the research and approved the final version of the manuscript. Authors are obliged to participate in the peer review process and respond promptly and professionally to editorial revisions or reviewer comments.

  4. Duties of the Publisher
    Pusat Publikasi, as the publisher of JIEL, is dedicated to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research and ensures accessibility through digital archiving. The publisher supports the editorial team in handling ethical concerns and works collaboratively with editors, authors, and reviewers to ensure the integrity of the academic record. The publisher is also committed to taking reasonable steps to prevent the publication of articles in which misconduct has occurred and will facilitate retractions or corrections when necessary.

  5. Misconduct and Plagiarism
    JIEL has a strict policy against plagiarism, falsification of data, and other forms of research and publication misconduct. Manuscripts found to violate these principles will be rejected or retracted if already published. All manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism detection software before review. In the case of allegations of misconduct, JIEL will investigate thoroughly, following COPE guidelines, and take appropriate action as required.
