Author Guideline and Online Submission

The Journal of Innovation in Education and Learning (JIEL), published by Pusat Publikasi, is a peer-reviewed academic journal that welcomes original research articles, literature reviews, conceptual papers, and case studies related to innovation, theory, and practice in the fields of education and learning. To ensure the quality and consistency of the publication, authors are required to follow the guidelines below when preparing and submitting their manuscripts.

  1. Scope and Focus
    JIEL accepts submissions that contribute significantly to the advancement of educational practices, policies, technologies, methodologies, curriculum development, teacher education, educational leadership, and learning theories. Interdisciplinary research and innovative applications in educational contexts are highly encouraged.

  2. Manuscript Preparation
    Manuscripts must be written in English using clear, concise, and academic language. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of language, grammar, and style. The manuscript should be typed in Microsoft Word format, using A4 paper size, with 1.5 line spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

The structure of the manuscript should include:

  • Title (no more than 15 words, capitalized)

  • Abstract (150–250 words, including objectives, methods, findings, and conclusion)

  • Keywords (3–5 keywords separated by commas)

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (optional depending on the article type)

  • Methodology

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusion and Recommendations

  • Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  • References (APA 7th Edition format is required)

  1. Originality and Plagiarism
    Submissions must be original and must not be under consideration or published elsewhere. Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism and must properly cite all sources. The editorial board conducts plagiarism screening using reliable software. Manuscripts exceeding 20% similarity will be rejected automatically.

  2. Authorship and Conflict of Interest
    Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the manuscript should be listed as authors. All contributors must agree to the final version before submission. Any potential conflict of interest must be disclosed at the time of submission.

  3. References
    All references must be cited in-text and listed in the reference section using APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition style. Authors are encouraged to use recent and reputable sources. Reference management tools like Mendeley or Zotero are recommended.

  4. Ethical Considerations
    For studies involving human participants, authors must include a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained and that ethical approval was granted by a recognized ethics committee.

  5. Article Processing Charges (APC)
    Currently, the Journal of Innovation in Education and Learning does not charge any submission or publication fees.

  6. Online Submission
    All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's online submission system. To submit an article, authors must:

c. Follow the five-step submission process:

  1. Start: Select the journal section and agree to the submission requirements

  4. Confirmation: Review and confirm the submission

  5. Next Steps: Wait for the confirmation email and subsequent peer review notification

  1. Peer Review Process
    JIEL adopts a double-blind peer review system. Manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team for scope, originality, and format. Qualified manuscripts are then sent to at least two independent reviewers. The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments.

  2. Copyright and Licensing
    Authors retain copyright of their work but grant JIEL the right of first publication. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), allowing others to share and adapt the work non-commercially with appropriate credit.
