Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies, (Print ISSN), (Electronic ISSN) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Publication Center jointly with Bali Business School. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the chief editor, the editorial board, the peer reviewer, and the publisher. This statement is based on the COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected body of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles embody the scientific method, and it is crucial to agree upon standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publishing process: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher, and the community.
The Publication Center jointly with Bali Business School, as the publisher of this journal, takes its duties of guardianship over all publishing stages very seriously and recognizes its ethical and professional responsibilities. The publisher is committed to ensuring that commercial interests (such as advertising or reprint revenue) do not affect editorial decisions. Additionally, the publisher and editorial board are committed to assisting communications with other journals and/or publishers where necessary.
Publication Decisions
The editor of the Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies is responsible for deciding which of the submitted articles should be published. The editor is guided by the editorial policies, the quality and relevance of the manuscript, and legal requirements concerning libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editor may consult with reviewers or editorial board members in making such decisions.
Fair Play
The editor will evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual content, without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political ideology of the authors.
Confidentiality
The editor and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor’s own research without the author's express written consent.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions and may also help the author improve the manuscript through editorial communication.
Promptness
If a selected reviewer feels unqualified or unable to review the manuscript promptly, they should inform the editor and excuse themselves from the review process.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, and personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly, with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published works not cited by the authors and alert the editor to any substantial overlap with other publications.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not use privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review for personal gain and should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors should provide accurate accounts of their research and objective discussions of its significance. The paper should contain enough detail and references to allow replication.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is original and that any use of the work or words of others is appropriately cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not publish the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals concurrently is unethical.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the study. All co-authors must agree to the final version and its submission.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
Authors must identify any unusual hazards inherent in chemicals, procedures, or equipment used in the study.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they must promptly inform the editor and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.
